Ricardo Calderón studied Financial Administration at the Western Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESO). He has professional experience in areas such as cultural management, artist booking, promotion, programming consultancy, associate executive, artistic and audiovisual production, artist representation, event organization, artistic curatorship, and project administration.

He is a founding partner of Kayka Producciones. He has collaborated with the Ministry of Culture, the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), and the National Center for the Arts (CENART), as well as with numerous orchestras and cultural institutions throughout the Mexican Republic and Spain.

He has worked with various festivals in Mexico, including the International Cervantino Festival in Guanajuato, the Revueltas Festival in Durango, the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Festival in Sonora, and the International Piano Festival Blanco y Negro at CENART, among others. He has also collaborated with universities such as the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), the University of Guadalajara (UDG), the Western Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESO), and Universidad Panamericana (UP), and has overseen artistic representation and production management throughout Mexico.

In the field of production, he has collaborated on the recording of digital audiovisual material, as well as on the editing and post-production of artistic performances in studio settings, including the development of a series of representative videos of these performances for presentation on digital platforms.

He is a promoter of recital series aimed at providing an intimate space for the artistic development of singers and pianists, as well as fostering audience engagement with lesser-performed repertoire. He has collaborated in the production and coordination of zarzuela performances in various venues and festivals.  In 2024, he served as Artistic and Pedagogical Coordinator of the Zarzuela Estudio Internacional and as Programming Coordinator of the Festival de Música Española y Zarzuela de La Palma in the Canary Islands, Spain.

He is the Executive Subdirector of the Carlo Morelli National Singing Competition, artistic director of the Colima International Singing Festival and Academy (FAICCOL), a member of the Mexican Zarzuela Board, and part of the Council of Orchestras in Mexico (OEM) and the National Meeting of Orchestra Executives (ENEO).

Among the renowned artists with whom he has collaborated are Plácido Domingo, Elīna Garanča, Javier Camarena, Hera Hyesang Park, Nadine Sierra, and Ailyn Pérez, among others.

He is also a professional tenor with an extensive artistic career.
